Resiliency Rule 07 - Attitude, Effort, and Focus

As I have coached my athletes through the years it has been very apparent that we as coaches, players, fans and family can only control 3 things in life. Our attitude. Believing the best in ourselves and most importantly believing the best in others. Our effort. Giving our all for a purpose greater than ourselves. Our focus. Keeping our eyes clear of distraction and full of love for others (Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose!). It reminds me of a quote from one of the greatest leaders of all time Martin Luther King Jr.

“If it falls to your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music ... Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.

So as you go through the ups and downs of a season remember that you have a great opportunity to be the best you! That is all you can control!
